we’re welcoming a new app into the primitives universe, .blink 👁️
.blink is a solana namespace that allows you to visualize your onchain social graph.

we’re rolling out a decentralized social protocol called tapestry and are opening it up for solana builders - get in touch to learn more!
primitives and .blink live on top of the tapestry protocol. any app on solana can integrate with tapestry unlocking portable profiles across the ecosystem.

smaugust > august
dragon lovers united this month and dropped some sick art with scales!
#smaugust was an art challenge that united artists around the theme of dragons - with prompts such as #davidsmaugustcodex inspiring creativity!
we spread the love about this challenge with our community and here is a roundup of some of our favorites ⤵️
we asked you if your environment influences your creativity… when polled “which art studio would you pick” the majority of you answered: beachside escape studio.
there’s been such amazing art coming out of the paris 2024 olympics - we’ve loved seeing the pairing of athletics and artistry! peep work by florence pernet.
a few more favorites worth mentioning ⤵️
have you met breanna charles (aka thestudio)? the nyc based visual artist explores complex topics such as marginalized communities through a pop culture lens. through their personal journey and passion for creating meaningful art, they’ve managed to carve out a unique and authentic creative space that continues to inspire and provoke thought.
what inspires you to make art?
i create from a place of pain, fashion, memories, and social issues. i like to layer my pieces with pop and cultural references without the viewer even noticing what they are truly looking at.
how would you describe your style?
my style is called thomasine, after thomasine hall, an english intersex servant in virginia during the 1600’s. i choose that name because of the way my approach towards art is developed. please read more about them, and you will at the core understand my approach and how my style fits in this crazy art world.
what are themes you like to share through your work?
i will always have a soft spot for marginalized groups, and women’s rights. when i create a piece, i want you to know that it is different.
“i love where i am right now in my art, i love my balance of graphics and pop culture. and i will only grow from here.”
what is your favorite work of art?
le barricade by constant nieuwenhuys. the cobra movement is a style that i can sit and look for hours and every time i see something different. this piece delivered such a dark fantasy that was a snub to western art styles, with the size of the piece alone. anytime someone breaks through the standards of art in such an impactful way it impresses me.
artist jean-michel basquiat speaking on his early art years - a great reminder to just do you no matter what! until next time, keep creating and be on the lookout for more to come 🙂
