this month we picked a variety of events from an immersive holiday experience to an exploration of cultural identity through internet art.

this month our scroll was stopped when we found artist @nickthomm! learn more about his background, process, and giant ethereal creations

“Nick Thomm is an Australian artist based in Los Angeles, recognized for his large-scale 'spectral paintings' and immersive art installations. His work explores modern color systems, abstract image construction, and the merge of traditional art with technology, resulting in a hypnotic combination of form and color.”

born in the south bronx, vicentyart's journey is deeply rooted in the vibrant textures of nyc. his work weaves together urban grit and tropical beauty. he's quickly emerged as a voice in the contemporary pop art scene, wielding acrylics, markers, and oils to tell stories that bridge his diverse cultural experiences. vicenty_art shares his evolution, influences, and vision for the future, including an exciting new venture set to launch this winter!

what drew you to contemporary Pop art?

life's surroundings in the 70s were filled with contemporary art, which was everywhere from the top of the Bronx to the tip of manhattan. graffiti billboards zoomed by on every train in nyc; it was, and still is, the highest form of expression and creativity, along with fashion, models and music.

what mediums do you typically work with?

acrylic paints are my go-to, but I love to play around with markers and oils as well. and, i've recently jumped into the world of sculpturing.

how has being based in nyc shaped your artistic vision and career?

living in nyc is like being part of a never-ending art installation - the buildings are like giant sculptures, the bridges are like elegant brushstrokes and times square is like the ultimate light show and the people - a beautiful mix of cultures creating the melting pot.

what advice would you give to emerging artists?

perseverance is key, so when you're about to throw in the towel, push yourself to be an overachiever instead. flash those pearly whites, make connections, and join local art shows. keep on painting, and regale people with your tales.

what's been your most challenging piece to date?

in retrospect, I consider my first artwork to be the inaugural piece I created. although i had never painted before, i began exploring my artistic side roughly four years ago. as a result, i view my piece “King Of The Jungle” as an announcement of my emergence in the new york art scene.

looking ahead, what goals drive you in your career?

the future holds promise as i continue to learn about the art world and curate the work of other artists in a new venture scheduled to launch this winter, alongside my own artwork which is now reaching a global audience.

how did you learn about primitives?

through my friend design_de_luca (luca goly).

we came across this video where billie eilish explains that if you don’t ever put your art out there - it will never be able to affect someone else : and art really does ❤️‍🔥 hit ❤️‍🩹 people and you never know when/who/where/why/how! 🎥

with that - keep experimenting and exploring - and most importantly, sharing your work with the world. it truly makes a difference and inspires us and others around you!

until next time (and next year!)

keep creating 🖌❤️️
